Students of the Soares Promotion enjoy special activities programme

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the College of Europe Bruges campus was not able to organize the traditional study trip to Flanders Fields on Wednesday 16 September. But no worries, the Student Affairs Office came up with a full-fledged alternative programme for the students of the Mário Soares Promotion. And of course, there was also a special offer for the students in quarantine. After a morning debate on the State of the Union of the President of the European Commission with Rector Federica MOGHERINI, the students could pick up a picnic in the residences and go out to discover the treasures and beauties of West Flanders.  Our students shared their nicest pictures by using the hashtag #westflandersday and #coebruges on Instagram.  Have a look at the result HERE!  The quarantined students in the residences were treated to a wide range of activities, starting with a Meet & Greet with Rector MOGHERINI via WebEx. After a lunch break with some lunchtime music, they could enjoy yoga and workout sessions, a "Stay at Home Museum" episode on the famous Flemish painter Jan van Eyck, a Q-quiz (including a special prize!), a virtual walk through the Groeninghemuseum next to our Dijver site,  a Q-experience photo contest (with of course another prize!) and last but not least a debate "What does Europe mean to you/C'est quoi l'Europe pour vous?", moderated by our academic assistants Pierre CHELLET and Pierre BACHELIER.  We sincerely hope that all of our students enjoyed their alternative Wednesday!
