New project awarded: EU Leading the Global Energy Transition

Global Energy Transition

The College of Europe in Bruges is member of a consortium that was selected by the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) of the European Commission to provide technical assistance to the project "EU Leading the Global Energy Transition".

The overall objective of the project is to support the European Union's efforts towards leading the global energy transition; promoting the European Union and its Member States' approach, know-how, standards and experience, as well as business opportunities in sustainable energy technologies. The project has a global geographical scope;  , the action will however prioritise South East Asia, Central and South Asia, and Latin America.

The College of Europe will contribute by working towards the creation of a repository of training modules on EU Energy policy and practices for DG ENER, the European Commission's Directorate General responsible for energy.

The three-year project is being carried out under the supervision of the European Commission's Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI), in close consultation with the European Commission's Directorates-General for Energy (DG ENER) and International Partnerships (DG INTPA), along with the European External Action Service (EEAS).

The consortium, led by Stantec, includes leading organisations with expertise in supporting the EU's diplomatic capacity and energy transition efforts: the College of Europe in Bruges, EXERGIA S.A. and the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy.

We look forward to working with the European Commission and our consortium partners to achieve the external dimension of the global policy priority of the European Green Deal.
