Dr Andriy TYUSHKA at the UACES 49th Annual Conference

Dr Andriy TYUSHKA, Research Fellow in the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair at the College of Europe in Natolin, participated in the UACES 49th Annual Conference held at the University of Lisbon, where he chaired the conference panel "Institutional Frameworks in EU Bilateral Agreements: Treaty Bodies and Special Procedures" and presented a paper on power and performance of "association bodies" established under the European Union’s new-generation Association Agreements with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

The paper provided a comparative law-and-politics account of institutional design, legal and political aspects of power conferral (delegation and re-delegation mechanisms) as well as functional aspects of authority exercise by "association bodies" – i.e. truly empowered and dynamic joint institutional frameworks of differentiated integration that transcend the usual logics and functional confines of (merely) executive "treaty bodies".
