Dr TYUSHKA gave a keynote speech on "The EU and its Eastern Neighbours: Whither 'Eastern Partnership'?" at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies

On 20 May 2021, Dr Andriy TYUSHKA, Senior Research Fellow at the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair at the College of Europe in Natolin, gave a keynote speech at the first "NearEU Graduate Conference" organized by the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies at the University of Tartu.

In his opening keynote titled The EU and its Eastern Neighbours: Whither 'Eastern Partnership'?, Dr TYUSHKA addressed the achievements and shortcomings of the EU’s flagship policy framework towards six Eastern European neighbours for over the past decade, pondered on the many dichotomies and binaries, including the 'success versus failure' binary, that define much of the debate on this policy undertaking’s decennial balance sheet and future development.

The speech also discussed the visions of, and divisions over, the Eastern Partnership’s many futures as the policy framework faces the momentous point of its revision this autumn or soon thereafter.
