EU-funded project El-Hiwar II - Institutional Training on the "Functioning and Priorities of the League of Arab States" in Cairo

The College of Europe Development Office supported the organisation of an institutional training course on the "Functioning and Priorities of the League of Arab States (LAS)" on 3-4 February 2020 in Cairo within the EU-funded project El-Hiwar II.

The training was offered to European officials interested in deepening their knowledge on the functioning of the LAS and its specific priorities in the areas of security, political affairs, economy, sustainable development, and social affairs. It was a unique opportunity to meet high officials from the LAS and visit its headquarters, as well as getting a broader picture of the LAS’ interests and flagship projects.

Ultimately, it provided an opportunity to explore avenues to expand Euro-Arab cooperation and discuss common challenges and ways to tackle them jointly.
