LAW Department offers students virtual study trip programme

Due to the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in Belgium and Europe, the academic departments of our College of Europe Bruges campus aren't able to organize their traditional yearly study trips in the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021. To make sure that the students of the Mário Soares Promotion can still enjoy a virtual voyage abroad, the European Legal Studies Department came up with a a digital study trip concept.

The full-fledged alternative programme takes place from Monday 8 until Wednesday 10 February 2021 and will include a Brussels Day, a Luxembourg Day and a Global Day. Wednesday evening (6-8 pm), all students will have the opportunity to meet with no less than 70 recent alumni of the College of Europe during a closing virtual Network Event.

"Overall, there will be 142 individuals participating as speakers —75 female and 67 male participants—who are EU officials, associates in law firms, national public servants, university professors or PhD candidates. They come from all 7 EU institutions, 7 EU agencies, EFTA Court, ECHR, ESM, 15 international law firms in Brussels, Luxembourg and Amsterdam, national administrations of 14 states, 8 universities (EUI, King’s College London, Leuven, Gent, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Geneva and Lund) as well as Max Plank Institute, working from the US or Panama to Moldova or Georgia", explains Alexandros POLITIS, Senior Academic Assistant of the European Legal Studies Department
