The College of Europe and its Global Competition Law Centre (GCLC) are pleased to invite you to a high level conference on the Reform of State Aid Rules on Services of General Economic Interest (SGEI). This exclusive event will provide a unique and comprehensive presentation of the new SGEI Package adopted by the European Commission.
The programme features a speech by Joaquín Almunia, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Competition, who will present the reform, participate in a panel discussion and answer questions from the audience. Top level European Commission officials will explain the content and objectives of the new rules.
Presentations will be given by high level speakers from the Court of Justice of the European Union [invited], the European Parliament[invited], national legislatures and administrations, academics, private practitioners, and stakeholders from the main sectors concerned (such as transport, post, energy, audiovisual and social services).
