"Hygge" characterizes Nordic-Baltic National Week

The Nordic-Baltic National Week took place in the beginning of February (31 January-4 February), and to no one’s surprise, this national week was characterized by “hygge” (fun and cosiness) all the way through! We kicked off the week with “fika”, which can be translated into a calm and cozy time with your friends, typically accompanied by coffee and pastries. To make the experience as authentic as possible, we gave out cinnamon buns to all of the College students and staff that dropped by. We continued our week with a speaker event on digitalization and green mobility.

The following day was dedicated to our national lunch, and after so many requests from our fellow students in the weeks before our national week, we could not disappoint: Of course, we had to serve Swedish meatballs. Accompanied by so-called “Smørrebrød” (open sandwiches on ryebread), the Danish Christmas dessert “Risalamande”, including the important almond game, as well as plenty of Scandinavian taste samples, everything was set for a great time of hygge in the canteen! Later that day, we hosted a phenomenal quiz night, introducing everyone to the best of Scandi-Baltic culture, ranging from “surströmming”, Baltic nature attractions, the Scandi royal families, and College alumni from our region.

The whole Nordic-Baltic team enjoyed the week incredibly much, and we would like to thank the whole College, students and staff, for making it so memorable!
