On the evening of 10 November 2022, the travelling exhibition "Operation Anthropoid" prepared by the Embassy of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Association of the Czechoslovak legionnaires and the Initiative A, was officially opened in the College of Europe, Bruges Campus.
Carsten Gerards, Principal Coordinator and Assistant to the Rector and Roselien Van Loocke, Library Director welcomed the students, participants of the European Diplomatic Academy, staff members and external guests.
The opening speech was delivered by H.E. Pavel Klucký, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Belgium. He explained the historical context of "Operation Anthropoid", the most successful joint action of the Czechoslovak domestic and foreign resistance and activities that led to the attack on Reinhard Heydrich, a high-ranking official of the Third Reich. H.E. Edita Hrdá, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the EU delivered the second speech and officially opened the expo.
The free exhibition is open to the public from 14/11/2022 until 28/02/2023, on weekdays from 09:00 until 12:30 and 14:00-17:00. We kindly ask you to book your timeslot.
