The Geostrategy Nest of the College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to organise a lecture titled: "Poland’s Security and Defence Outlook: Threats, Challenges, and Opportunities" with Lieutenant General Karol DYMANOWSKI, Vice Chief (1st Deputy) of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.
Our distinguished guest provided a general overview of security and defence from a Polish military perspective, with a focus on the key threats, challenges, and opportunities facing the country. The lecture was followed by a Q&A session with students.

About the speaker:
Lt General Karol DYMANOWSKI has served as Vice Chief (1st Deputy) of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces since April 2024 and was promoted to Lieutenant General in May 2025.
Previously, he held the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff for operations and planning (2022–2024), overseeing intelligence, operational planning, training, and force development. He earlier served at NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) as Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Development and Preparation, following his promotion to Major General in 2021.
He holds an MSc in Electronics and Telecommunications and a PhD in defence science.
