Visit of Mr Claude Wiseler, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, to Bruges

On Monday, 13 October 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Claude WISELER, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, to our Bruges campus for a keynote address and an engaging exchange with our students.
In his intervention, President Wiseler discussed the role and functioning of Luxembourg’s Parliament, while also addressing the broader theme of EU multilevel governance and the role of national parliaments in European decision-making.
The discussion offered students an opportunity to reflect on the mechanisms of democratic accountability across different levels of the European Union and to engage directly with a leading political figure on current challenges to European democracy.
At the end of his visit, President Wiseler met with Luxembourgish students currently studying at the College of Europe to discuss the vital role of young generations in shaping the future of Europe.
We warmly thank President Wiseler for his visit to Bruges, for sharing his insights on Europe’s democratic architecture, and for inspiring our students to reflect on the role of parliaments in the European project!
