Enzo MOAVERO MILANESI, lawyer, specialization in antitrust law, is currently Director of the School of Law of the LUISS University in Rome and professor of EU Law in the same university. Between 2011 and 2014, he was member of two Italian Governments as Minister for European Affairs. From 2006, until 2011, he was President of Chamber and judge at the General Court of the European Union (EU Court of Justice). He worked twenty years in the European Commission, where he was, inter alia: 2006, Director General of the Bureau of the European Policy Advisors (BEPA); 2002/2005, Deputy Secretary General of the European Commission; 2000/2002, Director in the Antitrust services; 1995/2000, Head of the staff ('cabinet') of the Commissioner in charge of 'Single Market', Financial Services, Taxation and of Competition Policy; 1990/1992 Head of the staff ('cabinet') of the Vice President responsible for Telecommunication, Information Technologies and Research Policy; in 2014, he was appointed Special Advisor to the Commissioner in charge of EU Internal Market and Financial services and since 2015, he is Special Advisor to the First Vice President on the respect of the Rule of Law and ‘Better Regulation’. Between 1993 and 1995, he served in Rome, as advisor to the Italian Prime Minister, for Community/EU Affairs and for the privatization of State-owned companies. He is the author of several articles on scientific law review and of three books (on merger regulation, on Community law and policies, and on EU competition law). He is also member of the editorial board of several Law Reviews.
