Prof. Casey is the Founder and CEO of RegHedge, a pioneering firm at the intersection of Fintech, Regtech and Legaltech, which uses artificial intelligence to derive trading and investment signals derived from policy events.

Previously, he occupied a number of senior investment roles as a Managing Director in leading global banks, including JP Morgan (Head of Investments, Emerging Markets), Edmond de Rothschild (Head of Investments, Europe), and Barclays (Head of Investment Advisory, International). At JP Morgan he led the client-facing investment solutions group for Emerging Markets in London, Geneva and Luxembourg, where he was accountable for nearly $15 billion of client assets and a business line generating tens of millions of dollars of investment revenues. At Rothschild he sat on the European Executive Committees for both Asset Management and Private Banking and was a member of the Global Investment Committee. He oversaw billions of euros of investment assets and managed dozens of investment professionals in a number of European offices. As a Partner in a multi-family office from 2012-2016, he built from scratch and led the development of the asset management platform, with its range of investment funds and structured notes, which was subsequently sold to a large Shanghai bank.

Before leading investment teams, he was Head of Regulatory Policy at Barclays Wealth, defining the bank's strategy in response to regulatory changes like MiFID, and leading change projects to implement regulatory changes across banking and investment products, technology, operations, and legal documentation. He also had compliance responsibility for a number of areas within the global Product and Investments function, including investment research, alternative investments and asset management.

Before moving to London and Barclays in 2007, Prof. Casey was Head of Research at the European Capital Markets Institute, housed within the Centre for European Policy Studies, Brussels' largest think tank. He has published two books on financial regulation, and a number of academic papers and reports in the field. His opinion pieces have been published several times in the Financial Times and his research cited twice in The Economist. Prof. Casey has spoken at dozens of conferences across the globe and in the past consulted for regulatory authorities and governments, including the Asian Development Bank, the U.S. SEC, FINRA, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the U.K. Financial Services Authority and the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, the French financial markets regulator. In 2015, he was appointed by ESMA to its expert Consultative Working Group, advising ESMA on investment and asset management regulation.

In 2021, he was appointed Assistant Professor at St Mary's University, Twickenham, where he lectures on ethical finance. He is Executive Trustee of the Voluntary Solidarity Fund UK, a charity accelerator which helps to integrate the most economically marginalised and socially excluded.
