"Data Verification and Online Security" Workshop with Mr Lukas ANDRIUKAITIS

Society relies on the internet for everything from work to entertainment, financial management, personal data storage, and more. Consequently, protecting our privacy, data verification, and cybersecurity is becoming an increasingly serious matter.

Occurring on Saturday, 4 March 2023, the Data Verification and Online Security Workshop, organised by the Natolin Student Affairs and Professional Development Office (SAPDO) and led by Mr Lukas ANDRIUKAITIS, covered the following points:

  • DFRLab and 4D’s of disinformation (methodology of disinformation classification) and full spectrum propaganda: Full-scale foreign influence operations and Narrative warfare 
  • Analysis of the source, reliable sources
  • Online safety/Cybersecurity 
  • Method of Geolocation 
  • Geolocation group exercise 

About the Speaker:

Mr Lukas ANDRIUKAITIS is a non-resident fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab) and a co-founder of the Civic Resilience Initiative in Lithuania.

In this capacity, Mr ANDRIUKAITIS researches Russian disinformation activities, as well as the military conflicts in Syria and Donbas. He is an open-source methodology trainer, organizing workshops and trainings around the globe. Additionally, he is an associate analyst at the Vilnius Institute for Policy Analysis (VIPA). Prior to this, he worked as the deputy head of the Strategic Planning Division in the State Railway Inspectorate under the Ministry of Transport of Lithuania. A lieutenant in the Lithuanian military, he served in the Lithuanian Special Operations Forces Special Purpose Service as a support officer.

Mr ANDRIUKAITIS received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science.
