Energy and Climate Diplomacy Workshop with Ambassador Václav BARTUŠKA

During the week of 2 November 2022, a group of 25 students of the College of Europe in Natolin met with the Ambassador-at-Large for Energy Security in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr Václav BARTUŠKA. This represented an opportunity for those interested in energy and its complex international market to get first-hand information from an expert in the sector.

This workshop by the Student Affairs and Professional Development Office at Natolin intended to provide students with a clear understanding of Energy and Climate Diplomacy. Ambassador BARTUŠKA divided the workshop into 4 main areas: the loneliness of the EU in the fight against Climate Change; the energetic relationship with the neighbourhood; the economic considerations of Energy and Climate diplomacy; and the EU Green Deal.

The students highlight that this opportunity allows them not only to have an inside on the diplomatic sector, but a "realistic" perspective of the current status of the energy market aside from news and public information. Moreover, the workshop took place as a conversation and interactive discourse between the students and Ambassador BARTUŠKA.
