Executive Education Training: "Media Bias and Armed Conflict: A Handbook of Critical Thinking while Reporting War"

The Executive Education Office at the College of Europe in Natolin is organizing in the framework of the ETGN (European and Transnational Governance Network) the 2024 edition of the online course "Media Bias and Armed Conflict: A Handbook of Critical Thinking while Reporting War".

Media professionals are on the frontline of shaping public opinion, especially in times of armed conflict. In today's digital age, the battle for truth and transparency is more critical than ever. Join us as we navigate the complexities of media bias and equip ourselves with the tools to report with integrity.  

The training will be delivered by Mr Dominik CAGARA.

🗓️ Dates: 

  • Online self-study sessions: 26 July  – 11 August 2024 
  • Online live sessions: 12 – 15 August 2024

Course learning outcomes:

  • Understand systems of power and their relevance to media work Analyse conflicts through the lens of positive and negative peace frameworks
  • Develop critical thinking skills to discern bias and report objectively
  • Evaluate the quality of war reporting for balance, impartiality, and conflict-sensitivity
  • Enhance media literacy to combat propaganda and misinformation

The course is part of the Executive Education programme at the College of Europe in Natolin.
