On 7 March 2017, H.E. Ambassador Rafał WIŚNIEWSKI came to the Natolin campus of the College of Europe to deliver a lecture on "Hungary and Poland in Central Europe – Towards understanding of similarities and differences".

The guest lecture was organized in the framework of the preparation for the second semester study trip week to Prague, Bratislava and Budapest titled "Central-European Alternatives? Past, Present and Future in the Visegrád Countries". Students explored the entangled histories and memories of the four Visegrád countries, gaining an understanding of the context so vital to the analysis of regional geopolitics, security and governance, and Europe's fundamental challenge: democratic legitimacy.

About the speaker:
H.E. Ambassador WIŚNIEWSKI is an experienced diplomat and an expert on the political history and culture of Hungary. During his distinguished career, he has served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Hungary and the Director of the Polish Institute in Budapest.
