High-level workshop on "Democracy Resurgence: Programme for Young Change Makers" by ODIHR

On 26 March 2022, the Student Affairs and Professional Development Office of the College of Europe in Natolin organized a high-level workshop on "Democracy Resurgence: Programme for Young Change Makers".

This session was offered to our students by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

ODIHR is the main body of the OSCE, providing support, assistance, and expertise to participating States and civil society to promote democracy, the rule of law, human rights and tolerance, and non-discrimination. ODIHR observes elections, reviews legislation, and advises governments on developing and sustaining democratic institutions focusing on public integrity and inclusive political participation. The Office conducts training programs for government and law-enforcement officials and non-governmental organizations on how to uphold, promote and monitor human rights.

This workshop aimed to equip our students with specific political skills that will prepare them for careers in international organizations, diplomacy, or other institutions working on democracy with its different dimensions. All the modules were delivered by high-level ODIHR experts.

The multidimensional learning approach ODIHR provided comprised thematic lectures and interactive sessions on the topics of State of Democracy, Intergovernmental Organizations and Participatory Democracy, Leadership and Parliamentary Integrity, looking into the co-relation between democracy, corruption, and integrity.
