Impressions from the Ukrainian National Day at Natolin

On 29 April 2022, the Ukrainian National Day was celebrated at the Natolin campus. In the face of the greatest challenge that all Ukrainians are facing, the community of the College of Europe in Natolin has since the very beginning shown huge support and solidarity. That is why it was a great pleasure for the Ukrainian students to organize this event and show the beauty of Ukrainian culture.

The main event began with a minute of silence for the heroes and people of Ukraine, after which the Natolin Choir performed the Ukrainian national anthem as well as the song "Oi u luzi chervona kalyna" and the floor was given to the special guest: the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland H.E. Mr Andrii DESHCHYTSIA. The evening continued with a performance by the Ukrainian folk band "Malwa" and closed with a special dinner organised by the Natolin Restaurant that yet again impressed with traditional cuisine.

Aside from the main event, on the same week students organised a photo and art exhibition dedicated to the war and to Ukrainian history and the screening of the cartoon "Like Cossacks". Additionally, the Natolin Languages and Intercultural Dialogue Office held courses of Ukrainian language.
