Natolin Continues History Workshops in Partnership with EUI’s Max Weber Programme

The European Civilization Chair of the College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to continue its longstanding History Workshops in collaboration with the Max Weber Programme of the European University Institute (EUI), reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing historical and social research.

This year’s edition brought together distinguished scholars to explore pressing issues shaping Europe’s past and present. Dr Imogen BAYLEY, Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the EUI, led a workshop titled “Europe on the Move: Human Rights, Displaced Persons and Refugees After 1945.” Her session examined the evolution of human rights frameworks in response to displacement and migration in post-war Europe.

Dr Lennart SCHÜRMANN, also a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the EUI, conducted a workshop on “Causes and Consequences of Political Protest: Lessons from Environmental and Climate Mobilization in Europe.” His presentation focused on the dynamics of political protest, with particular attention to environmental and climate movements across the continent.

The workshops provided participants with valuable insights into key historical and contemporary challenges, while fostering engaging discussion and interdisciplinary exchange. Natolin’s continued partnership with the Max Weber Programme highlights the importance of academic collaboration in addressing complex societal issues.
