Natolin Energy and Climate Nest's Meet the Professional Discussion: "Between energy security and energy poverty"

On 29 November 2022, the Natolin Energy and Climate Nest organized the Meet the Professional Discussion Between energy security and energy poverty with Ms Carolina NOVAC, Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

The discussion had an eminently practical focus, as the students were introduced to energy crisis management applied to one of the countries suffering the most from the impact of the conflict in Ukraine; the Republic of Moldova.

The discussion continued on the following points: impacts following the gas cut supplies by Gazprom and electricity shortages; government reaction: from reducing energy consumption to contingency plans and key reforms.

About the speaker

Ms Carolina NOVAC is the Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova. Ms NOVAC is a European Public Affairs professional in the energy field with seven years of experience.

Previously, Ms NOVAC was the Manager of EU Policies and Regulations of National Grid in Brussels. Before, she worked at ENTSOG (European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas) as a Policy Advisor, Weber Shandwick – a top consultancy in Brussels, and the European Commission at the Directorate General for Research and Innovation.

Ms Carolina NOVAC studied at the College of Europe in Bruges – majoring in Political Studies and European Governance; the University of Bucharest, MA in Diplomacy, BA in International Relations and European Studies. Ms NOVAC is an affiliated energy policy expert at Europuls and a member of Jeunes énérgiticiens(nes) (community of French energy professionals in Brussels).
