Christophe HILLION

Christophe Hillion is professor of European law at the University of Oslo and research professor at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). He previously held positions at the University of Leiden (2005-2020), the University of Stockholm (2010-2013), University College London (2002-04), the University of Cambridge (2000-02) and at the College of Europe (1996-2000).  His present research focuses on the constitutional law and external action of the European Union; he currently coordinates a research project on the Enforcement of the Rule of Law in the EU (ENROL) financed by the Norwegian Research Council. He has advised various European governments and institutions on those matters. He is joint-editor of the Common Market Law Review. 

He teaches a course at Natolin titled "The EU’s Relation(s) with Wider Europe – The Legal Dimension," which examines the various approaches the EU has adopted towards its neighbouring countries in Europe. The course aims to familiarize students with the foundations, objectives, institutions, modalities, and effects of the EU’s legal interactions with the wider Europe.
