Visit to Copernicus Science Centre on the Nicolaus Copernicus' Anniversary

In celebration of the anniversary of Nicolaus Copernicus on 19 February 2022, the Student Affairs and Professional Development Office (SAPDO) of the College of Europe in Natolin organised a visit to the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw. The museum is a state-of-the-art science and technology centre aimed at promoting education and exploration in the fields of physics, artificial intelligence, space, and more.

Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543) was a Renaissance-era mathematician and astronomer who is best known for his heliocentric model of the universe, which placed the Sun at the center of the solar system rather than the Earth. Copernicus was born in Toruń, Poland, and spent much of his life in Poland as a church canon and scholar. His work revolutionized the field of astronomy and had a profound impact on scientific thought and exploration.

The Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw is a fitting tribute to Copernicus and his legacy and serves as an important educational and cultural institution in Poland. More than 30 students from the College of Europe in Natolin spent the afternoon at the museum, participating in hands-on exhibits and interactive activities. The visit provided an opportunity for students to explore and learn about science in a dynamic and engaging environment and to gain a deeper understanding of the groundbreaking work of Copernicus.
