KRČELIĆ D – Interpersonal Communication and Conflict Management Skills (8h)
After their studies the students of the College of Europe are likely to work in varied working environments: intercultural settings of EU bodies, international institutions or multinational companies, national governments with likely international/intercultural interactions, etc. Each interaction entails also different communication challenges (like aggressive colleagues, crises, individual insecurities etc.). That is why this kind of workshop is designed to make students aware of this diversity of communication and would like to address some specific aspects of interpersonal communication and conflict management.
The purpose of this kind of training is to make them more confident in all future interactions with peers and professional environments, regardless of the professional or political levels of interaction.
The main objective of this workshop is to boost the students’ confidence and improve their communication skills, including general communication skills, communicating across cultures, business communication and dealing with conflict situations. Within an 8-hour framework after the workshop the students will:
- Be able to Identify various types of (professional) communication
- Be aware of intercultural aspect of communication across cultures
- Feel more confident in communicating in different business environments
- Master assertive communication
- Be able to communicate more effectively in various conflict situations
