The Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, is seeking applications for the position of a full-time Research Fellow at the EU-China Research Centre with a starting date of 1 October 2016. The EU-China Research Centre is financed by the Baillet Latour Fund and directed by Professor Jing Men.
We are looking for excellent post-doc candidates with
- a PhD in the field of EU-China relations and a background in economics, International Relations, EU studies, political science, or law ;
- a proven track record of research and academic publications in the field of EU-China relations;
- an excellent command of English and a very good command of French; a good knowledge of Mandarin would be considered an asset;
- a demonstrated capability in developing research projects, experience with editing publications and with organising events;
- an ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously;
- good communication and organisational skills; and
- a sense of responsibility and initiative.
Tasks include
- pursuing research activities and publications on EU-China relations individually and in cooperation with the Director of the Centre as well as the Baillet Latour Chair of European Union-China Relations;
- assisting in the organisation of workshops and conferences of the EU-China Research Centre;
- contributing to the EU-China Observer (www.coleurope.eu/EUCO) as member of the editorial board;
- cooperating with the Department in which the Centre is located and with the research affiliates and visiting scholars of the Centre;
- participating in representational tasks undertaken in the framework of the Centre;
- contributing to the implementation of the work programme and objectives of the Centre under the supervision of the Director.
