The campus in Bruges (Belgium) is located in the historic centre of what is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and a former ‘European Capital of Culture’.

Bruges is a beautiful medieval city situated in the Flanders region, in the North of Belgium. Tourists from around the world marvel at the unique UNESCO World Heritage city and former European Capital of Culture. The College of Europe campus has two sites, Dijver and Verversdijk, while the seven student residences (Biskajer, Garenmarkt, Gouden Hand, Oliebaan, Oude Zak, Sint-Joris and Karel Verleye) are spread throughout the historic core of the city. Bruges, the capital of the province of West Flanders, is within easy reach of Brussels, the capital of Europe, and is easily accessible from many major cities.

  • Master of Science in European Economic Studies

    The European Economic Studies Programme in Bruges provides an in-depth specialisation in the economics of the European Union and offers a comprehensive coverage of European economic integration (process, policies, market functioning and regulation) while putting the emphasis on digital economics, finance and climate change.

  • Master of Arts in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies

    The advanced MA programme EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies, taught in Bruges, focuses on the European Union as a global actor as well as on professional skills relevant for international affairs  and diplomacy. This specialised and demanding programme, which attracts a diverse and dynamic student body, equips graduates with a comprehensive understanding of the EU’s external action.

  • Master of European Law (LLM)

    The European Legal Studies programme in Bruges, provides students with an in-depth education in EU law. The bilingual programme establishes a balance between the substantive and the constitutional aspects of EU law, and emphasizes both its increasing complexity and the context in which it is evolving.

  • Master of Arts in European Political and Governance Studies

    The European Political and Governance Studies Programme combines academic excellence with professional development. It brings together students from diverse academic backgrounds to be taught by top-level experts from across Europe on an extensive range of topics, with an unparalleled access to theoretical and practical insights.

  • Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs (MATA)

    The two-year Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs(MATA)programme, taught in English and offered  jointly by the College of Europe (Bruges and Natolin) and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University, Boston area), provides an excellent academic and practice-oriented education regarding the economic, legal and political aspects of transatlantic affairs in a broad sense. MATA prepares students to work in a broad range of areas relevant to transatlantic relations, including climate change, security, diplomacy, trade, and finance.

  • Master of Arts in European Transformation and Integration (ETI)

    The Master of Arts in European Transformation and Integration – The EU and Southeastern Europe (ETI) is offered in our newly established Campus in Tirana, Albania. It has been conceived to address the increasing demand for experts who exhibit a thorough understanding of the enlargement process of the European Union and a well-rounded, critical perspective on the salient challenges of the 21st century, with a particular emphasis on the Southeastern Europe and EU-Western Balkans relations.

The College of Europe is located in the stunning medieval city of Bruges. Studying, living and working with 350 students from over 55 different countries for 10 months, in residences spread across the city of Bruges, offers the perfect opportunity to practice one’s intercultural skills on a daily basis.

Bruges Library

The Bruges Library holds a collection of over 70,000 books focusing on European law, economics, political and administrative sciences and international relations and diplomacy.


It also has a large collection of periodicals and provides access to a wide variety of subscription databases, electronic journals and e-books.
