From 5 to 9 March 2023, the students of the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies visited Geneva to put the European Union’s external action in a global context and benefit from discussing different perspectives. They participated in high-level lectures and debates on various aspects of multilateral diplomacy at the United Nations Palais des Nations, at the World Trade Organisation, at the EU Delegation to the UN and EU Mission to the WTO, and at DiploFoundation. Students could also focus on their areas of interest by choosing to visit one of the following institutions: EFTA Secretariat, Geneva Centre for Security Policy, International Committee of the Red Cross, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, or the World Health Organization. The study trip benefited from the support of the Swiss Mission to the UN and the Republic and State of Geneva, and also included a fondue dinner. It was a very enlightening and enjoyable trip.
