International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia 2023

Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, Bruges is wearing the colors of the LGBTQIA+ community. This year, Belgium ranked 2nd in the Rainbow Index published by ILGA Europe.

We are proud to be able to live in a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our community. We stand with the LGBTQIA+ community in the fight against discrimination and prejudice.

On this day, the students of Queeropeans also raise their voices:

"While we should stand up everyday against any form of hate or discrimination, IDAHOBIT is the day to highlight that the LGBTIQ+ community is still too often the victim of attacks and discrimination, and that too many of its members are still not safe to be who they are. Our time at the College has highlighted many ways to stand up and improve the lives of everyone in the EU and beyond. We hope to carry those values and capabilities with us in the future, and contribute to making the world a safer place. And to anyone who doesn’t feel safe today, remember that you are not alone. There is hope and we stand with you."
