Job Vacancy – Deputy Academic Project Coordinator (100% FTE) at the College of Europe in Bruges

Tirana_logoThe College of Europe in Bruges is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Academic Project Coordinator (100% FTE) to join the “Tirana Action Team of Experts” in the Academic Administration Office (Bruges campus) with a starting date in mid-January 2024.

Background information:

In the framework of the establishment of a new College of Europe campus in Tirana (Albania) and the launch of the new Master’s programme in “European Transformation and Integration Studies – The EU and Southeastern Europe” (ETI), the Deputy Academic Project Coordinator will assist the Academic Project Coordinator in coordinating all the preparatory academic actions during the inception phase of the project (until September 2024).

As a key member of the “Tirana Action Team of Experts” for the opening of the Tirana Campus of the College of Europe, the position of Deputy Academic Project Coordinator will be based in Bruges.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Postgraduate degree in European Studies, Law, Economics, Political Science or International Relations (a PhD in one of these fields is considered an asset);
  • An excellent command of English, with a (very) good command of French, and other languages, considered an asset;
  • A very good understanding of the EU, its institutions and policies;
  • Experience with or a good understanding of the College of Europe;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in higher education (preferably including design and development of academic curricula and accreditation processes, etc.);
  • Full digital literacy;
  • Good analytical and organisational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and attention to detail;
  • Result-oriented approach as well as a proactive and cooperative outlook;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team;
  • Open personality with strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills and a flexible and goal-oriented mindset.

In close cooperation with the Academic Project Coordinator, the Deputy Academic Project Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate and contribute to the student admission procedure for the new Master’s programme;
  • Liaise with and support professors and other stakeholders in the concrete steps towards the development and implementation of the ETI programme for the academic year 2024-25;
  • Advise on the development of concrete course outlines in accordance with the College’s academic standards;
  • Assist in the implementation of the communication strategy of the ETI programme and the campus of the College in Albania;
  • Prepare the extracurricular offer/activities of the ETI programme;
  • Liaise with the Administrative Project Coordinator on preparatory action and reporting in the area of academic administration, such as student registration, course scheduling, ICT support and equipment, finance, and budget;
  • Support the on-boarding of admitted students as well as the preparation/organisation of the introductory courses of the ETI programme;
  • Guide the work of the team’s Academic Assistant;
  • General support for the project in coordination with the Director of the Academic Administration Office.

The Deputy Academic Project Coordinator will be based in Bruges – with occasional visits to Tirana.
