December festive activities

December is a month with many festive activities just after the intense exam period and before a well-deserved winter break of two weeks.

The holiday spirit was kicked off with the setting up of the Christmas tree in the foyer of our Dijver building by our librarian Renée MAYAERT and a number of students.  On Tuesday 19 December 2017, all our students and members of staff were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch in the College restaurant and in the evening all Bruges’ students could ice skate for free during "Students on Ice" organized by Brugge Studentenstad in the middle of the gorgeous market square of Bruges.

And last but not least, the Student Affairs Office, together with many student volunteers and "The Phoenix Café", organized a charity Christmas drink on Wednesday late afternoon for the students, members of staff, host families and the residence ladies, during which the student choir added a truly festive note. During the Christmas drink the students finally received their Secret Santa gift. The Charity and the Asylum & Migration student teams launched the sale of Christmas candles made by refugees living in "Le Refuge" in Bruges. All revenues went to "Le Refuge" as well.

That same night the student bar "La Merveille" hosted its last 2017 bar night in the Gouden Hand residence.
