In the framework of the National Week of the Southern and Eastern European Countries at our College of Europe Bruges campus, The Romanian & Moldovan Society recently hosted two high-level events. On Tuesday 6 April, H.E. Ms Luminița Teodora ODOBESCU, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Romania to the European Union and H.E. Daniela MORARI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union joined our student team for an online panel discussion on Romania – Republic of Moldova relations in the context of the EU neighbourhood policies.
On Friday 9 April, the students of the Romanian and Moldovan Society virtually welcomed H.E. Ambassador Simona-Mirela MICULESCU, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Delegate of Romania to UNESCO, for an online conversation on The Role of Cultural Diplomacy in a Union of Diversity: The Traditional Blouse as a Glimpse of the Romanian-Moldovan Cultural Identity. Both extraordinary events were reserved for students and staff of the College of Europe in both Bruges and Natolin, while the participants had the opportunity to ask questions via the Q&A function.
"A fascinating and insightful event with the two ambassadors covering a range of interesting topics relating to Romania and Moldova. It really opened up my eyes on the effects of COVID in the region and the developments in the ENP. A great start to a great week and I thank the society for organising it!"
Philippe LEFEVRE, IRD Student
"With such an inspiring woman, I’d also keep the dream of becoming a diplomat. Honestly she was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable that if I were Romanian I’d just go for such diplomatic career."
