Seasonal festivities in Bruges

December is a month with many festive activities just after the intense exam period and before a well-deserved winter break of two weeks.

The holiday spirit always starts with the setting up of the Christmas tree in the foyer of our Dijver building by our librarian Renée and a number of students.

The academic student representatives of the different departments organize a departmental christmas dinner with their fellow students, the academic assistants, the permanent professor and/or director of studies in one of the many restaurants in Bruges.

On Tuesday 20 December all our students and members of staff were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch in the College restaurant and in the evening all Bruges’ students could skate for free during “Students on Ice” organized by “Bruges Student City” in the middle of the gorgeous Market square of Bruges.

And last but not least the Student Affairs Office together with the help of the students’ “Phoenix team” organized a Charity Christmas drink on Wednesday late afternoon for the students, members of staff and host families during which the student choir brought a true festive spirit. During the Christmas drink rector MONAR awarded the winners of the College photo contest (Facebook album). That same night the student bar “The Liquidity trap" hosted its last 2016 bar night in the Gouden Hand residence with a live performance of the student band "The Bloody Maynards".
