Job Vacancy – Secretary (40%) at the EU-China Research Centre, College of Europe, Bruges

The Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, is seeking applications for the position of a part-time secretary (3 years) for the newly established EU-China Research Centre, which is financed by the InBev-Baillet Latour Fund and directed by Professor Jing Men. The starting date is as soon as possible.

 

Founded in 1949, the College of Europe is one of the oldest and most reputed institutes of post-graduate European Studies. It has two campuses, one in Bruges (Belgium) and one in Warsaw (Poland), and offers a pleasant, international working environment.

 

Tasks include

  • giving administrative and organizational support to the daily activities of the Centre
  • organizing conferences in Bruges and Brussels and visits of scholars
  • communicating internally and externally in Dutch, English and French
  • updating information on the College’s internet and intranet
  • handling the budget payments for the Centre
  • organizing the Centre’s Board meetings
  • working closely together with the Department and with the other services of the College
  • 40% of a full-time position (2 days/week) 

The profile required includes

  • a relevant education and professional experience
  • a friendly and open personality, willing to learn and take initiatives
  • the ability to work in a team and independently
  • fluency in Dutch and a very good knowledge of English and French (both oral and written)
  • a good knowledge of MS Office
