Béatrice Dumont is Professor of economics at the University Sorbonne Paris Nord. She is a senior research fellow at CEPN-CNRS. Between 2006 and 2009, she was member of the prospective unit of the French Prime Minister on intellectual property rights (IPRs). She studied economics at the Universities of Lille I in France, Aachen in Germany, Edinburgh in Scotland and Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne where she received a PhD in economics in 1997. She was a visiting research fellow at the University of Chicago and at MERIT, Maastricht University in The Netherlands. Her research focuses on the economics of innovation and IPRs, and on competition policy.
