Francesco Marchi (IT) is Adjunct Professor of Political Science and Director of the Research and Training programme “Negotiators of Europe” at the Institute for Research and Education on Negotiation (ESSEC IRENE) in Paris.

He regularly delivers training on negotiation techniques to European institutions’ officials (European Commission, European Parliament, EEAS), and to diplomats in Europe and South East Asia. He teaches negotiation courses at ESSEC Business School’s Master and MBA, and at the Ecole Nationale d’Administration. His research focuses on the negotiation behaviour and dynamics in the EU institutional system. In that framework he has developed specific courses on EU negotiations that he teaches at the College of Europe (Bruges), the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po and at the Master of Global Politics and Euro-Mediterranean Relations of the University of Catania. He is also actively involved in the research and application of innovative pedagogical tools for teaching negotiation.

He holds a PhD in Political Science from the Institut d’études politiques of Paris (Sciences Po) and a Master of Political Science and International Relations from the University of Catania.
