Maureen WELSH started working at the College of Europe in 2011 at the Student Affairs Office and, in October 2012, she joined the Development Office as a Project Assistant. Before joining the College, Maureen WELSH worked for seventeen years in the private sector as Commercial Employee and as International Key Account Manager.
Since joining the Development Office, she has been working on its Executive Education courses such as the 3-week ‘Intensive Seminar on the EU’ (since 2013), the bi-annual (June & November) ‘EU Project Management’ course (since 2013), ‘Monitoring and Evaluation’ (since 2016) as well as ‘Managing Migration in Europe’ (since 2016). She is also working on a variety of other projects like the annual Colloquium on International Humanitarian Law for the ICRC (Red Cross), the co-operation with OIF (Organisation internationale de la Francophonie) and the EU Policy and Outreach Partnership – Brazil and South America organising diplomatic and executive training courses in Latin America.
In the past, Maureen worked on a technical assistance project in Georgia, on an academic cooperation project with ADA University Azerbaijan, and organised study visits for a variety of groups, including for the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia.
In addition to this, she is part of the communications team of the Development Office and is in charge of taking pictures. She was born in Bruges and speaks Dutch, English, French and Spanish. Recently she started an Arabic language course.
