Tanguy DE WILDE D'ESTMAEL

Tanguy de Wilde d'Estmael (BE) is Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the Social and Political Science Department and the Institut d'Etudes européennes at the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium.
He was educated in political science and law at the Université Catholique de Louvain and was a researcher in public law at the University of Namur and professor of political science at the Facultés Universitaires de Mons, Belgium. He is the director of the Chair Inbev-Baillet Latour UCL-KUL that promotes the study of EU-Russia relations and has been a Visiting Professor in Paris, Tunis, Geneva, Beirut and Toulouse.
Professor de Wilde d'Estmael has published widely on the EU's external relations and on international conflicts, including La Chine sur la scène internationale : Vers une puissance responsable (2012, with T. Struye); China, The European Union and Global Governance (2012, with J Wouters, P. and J.-C. Defraigne); La politique étrangère: Le modèle classique à l'épreuve (2004 with Rosoux/Roosens), La politique étrangère de la Russie et l'Europe: Enjeux d'une proximité (2004), and La dimension politique des relations économiques extérieures de la Communauté européenne: Sanctions et incitants économiques comme moyens de politique étrangère (1998).
