The College discusses the future of the EU's Green Deal Diplomacy: “After COP 27 in Sharm El-Sheik – What Next for Global Climate Politics?”

On 30 January 2023, the IBERDROLA Manuel Marin Chair for European Energy and Climate Policy, the EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies (IRD) Department and the Student Energy Group of the College of Europe organised an event entitled “After COP 27 in Sharm El-Sheik – What Next for Global Climate Politics?” The event focused on the EU’s Green Deal Diplomacy after COP27.

The participants - students of the College of Europe's Bruges and Natolin campuses and the European Diplomatic Academy - and speakers were welcomed by professor Dirk Buschle, Chairholder of the IBERDROLA Energy and Climate Chair. He gave the floor to H.E. Badr ABDELATTY, Ambassador of Egypt to Belgium and the EU, Mr. Jacob WERKSMAN, Principal Adviser for International Aspects of EU Climate Policy at DG CLIMA, and Dr. Bernd WEBER, Founder and Managing Director, EPICO. The event was moderated by Professor Simon Schunz.
