Hellenic Society celebrates two milestones in Greek history with special activities

On Thursday 25 March 2021, the Hellenic Society of our College of Europe Bruges campus delivered traditional sweets to the seven student residences (Biskajer, Garenmarkt, Gouden Hand, Oliebaan, Oude Zak, Sint-Joris and Karel Verleye) located in the inner city of Bruges. The delicious Greek delicacies were distributed on the occasion of the celebration of the bicentennial anniversary of the Greek Revolution (1821). The sweet surprises kindly offered by Pâtisserie Nikolas Koulepis were cut into individual pieces in order to respect the current sanitary conditions. On Tuesday 6 April 2021, the students of the Hellenic Society organized an online conversation with Mr Margaritis SCHINAS, Vice-President of the European Commission and responsible for Promoting the European Way of Life. The student event entitled "European Way of Life: A Europe that protects, a Europe that empowers" took place with the support of Pappas & Associates Law Firm in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary since the accession of Greece to the European Union (1981). Rector Federica MOGHERINI opened the virtual event with a short introduction. The students had an inspiring dialogue with the Vice-President who reaffirmed that “Europe is not the problem, but the solution”.
