Sorina Teleanu (RO) is Director of Knowledge at DiploFoundation in Geneva, Switzerland, where she focuses on exploring the intersection between digital technology and global governance, through conducting research, lecturing for various capacity-development programmes (in particular for policymakers and diplomats), and delivering regular briefings for the diplomatic community.
She has worked in the internet and digital policy field for over 15 years in roles including policymaking, research, capacity development, and stakeholder engagement. Before joining DiploFoundation, she worked as an advisor in the Parliament of Romania, dealing with ICT-related legislation and policies.
Between 2011 and 2016, Sorina Teleanu served as a representative of the Romanian Government to the Governmental Advisory Committee of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). She was also the Chair of the Executive Committee of the South-Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG) and a member of the UN Secretary-General’s Multistakeholder Advisory Group for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). Moreover, she worked as a fellow and consultant at the IGF Secretariat under the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs. Sorina Teleanu holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in International Relations and European Studies from the Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu, Romania.
