Cesare ZEGRETTI is Italian and since January 2022 is the Co-Director of the Executive Education, Training and Projects Office.

Cesare joined the College of Europe in January 2016 as Project Coordinator and has more than ten years of professional experience in business development, project design and management of international projects. His main areas of interest and experience are: international cooperation policies, EU public diplomacy and external action, training and adult education.

In the last years, he has built an extensive experience in managing projects requiring the implementation of high-level sectorial dialogues, exchanges of best practices and networking events. This includes the supervision of the worldwide, project ‘European Resources for Mediation Support – ERMES’, which facilitates the EU’s support to third parties engaged in peace mediation and dialogue processes, through technical expertise and the organisation of training seminars, meetings, and events.

Prior to joining the College, Cesare worked on complex international development projects for two leading European companies specialized in providing services to European and international institutions in the area of safety and security. His experience includes the organisation of seminar and training courses on safety and risk prevention. Furthermore, Cesare worked for an NGO managing advocacy campaigns on human rights protection, focusing its research work on policy and legal developments in the area of discrimination within the EU and EU foreign relations.

He holds a Master’s in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences, both obtained at the LUISS University in Rome. He speaks English, French and Italian.
