Why EU Institutions Matter: Book Launch by D. Hodson, U. Puetter & S. Saurugger

From 19:30 till 20:30
Room F
Webex

EU institutions have been at the centre of Europe’s response to COVID-19, climate change and ongoing challenges to democracy and the rule of law, among other regional and global emergencies. And yet scholars differ on the questions of what precisely EU institutions are, what they do, and why they matter. In this book launch event, three Visiting Professors from the Department of European Political and Governance Studies at the College of Europe – Dermot Hodson (Birkbeck College, University of London), Uwe Puetter (Europa-Universität Flensburg) and Sabine Saurugger (Sciences Po Grenoble-UGA) – will introduce the 5th edition of their popular textbook, The Institutions of the European Union (Oxford University Press, 2021). This book launch is chaired by Professor Olivier Costa (Director of the Department of European Political and Governance Studies at the College of Europe), who is among the book’s contributors.
