On 10 March 2015, Mr Maciej FALKOWSKI, Senior Fellow at the Department for Turkey, Caucasus and Central Asia, Centre for Eastern Studies (Ośrodek Studiów Wschodnich), gave a lecture at the Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe. The lecture focused upon Armenia in the light of current issues related inter alia to Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Iran and the EU.

         

The lecture was part of a preparatory lecture series for the Falcone-Borsellino students taking part in the study trip to Georgia and Armenia, which took place from 14 March until 21 March 2015.

     

About the speaker:

Mr Maciej FALKOWSKI has been working at the Centre for Eastern Studies since 2002, first as a member of the Department for Russia, then within the Department for Caucasus and Central Asia. He was responsible for the political, social and economic analysis of the Northern and Southern Caucasus, as well as Central Asia. His area of research focuses also on Islam within the post-Soviet space. Mr FALKOWSKI was Secretary for Political Affairs at the Polish Embassy in Armenia from 2010 before returning to the Centre for Eastern Studies.
