Location

ul. Nowoursynowska 84
PL-02/797 Warszawa
PolandAfter the success of the consecutive summer schools held yearly since 2010 at the University of Roskilde (Denmark), the University of Crete in Rethymno (Greece), the Lisbon University Institute (Portugal) and the Natolin campus of the College of Europe (Poland) respectively, the ENP Chair at the Natolin campus of the College of Europe organized the third ENP PhD Summer School.
"The ENP under Pressure: The EU and the Eastern and Southern Neighbourhoods".
It took place from 23 June to 3 July 2015 at the College of Europe, Natolin (Warsaw) campus, the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) the Academic College Tel-Aviv Yaffo, the EU Representative Office for the West Bank and Gaza Strip in East Jerusalem, and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (East Jerusalem and Ramallah).
This year’s school was organized in collaboration with the Center for the Study of European Politics and Society of the BGU, the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR), the Standing Group on the European Union of the ECPR (SGEU-ECPR), and the Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA).
The school brought together a group of 16 PhD students from all across Europe and trained them in theoretical, empirical and research-strategic issues in the field of EU foreign policy analysis and European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). Also, participants were given the opportunity to present their ongoing PhD projects and benefit from scholarly feedback and advice. In order to take into account the geopolitical complexity of the ENP, the first week of the School, held in Poland, focused exclusively on the eastern dimension of the ENP, while the second week, held in Israel and Palestine, focused on the southern dimension of the ENP with a particular focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The ENP Chair would like to thank the staff of the Natolin campus of the College of Europe, the CSEPS at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, both the Israel Office and the Ramallah Office of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, as well as all involved participants, scholars and practitioners for their support and for having made this year’s summer school possible.
