On 17 September 2020, Prof. Krzysztof CZYŻEWSKI gave a special lecture at the College of Europe in Natolin entitled:
"Borderland: The Concept in Practice"
The study of borders and borderlands has attracted renewed interests, which generated growing debates about theoretical and conceptual implications across different regions in the world. But what does the concept of "borderland" mean in practice? Krzysztof CZYŻEWSKI, a "practitioner" of borderlands in Poland’s north-east, introduced the topic, highlighting those aspects that characterize borderlands in practice and serve as sources of community.
The lecture was part of a preparatory lecture series for the students of the Mário Soares Promotion participating in the first semester study trips, taking place from 20 to 26 September 2020.
