On 20 February 2024, Natolin's students had the opportunity to meet Mr Alessandro AZZONI, Deputy Political Director and Security Director of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The topic of the session was "European Defence: a necessity not an option".
About the Speaker:
Mr Alessandro AZZONI commenced his tenure with the Italian Diplomatic Service in 1991. Over the course of his professional journey, he has assumed numerous significant roles both abroad and in Rome. His experiences include serving as Consul in Barcelona, Spain (1994-1998), Deputy Head of Mission in Dakar, Senegal (1998-2001), Chief of Staff at the Directorate General for Multilateral Political Affairs within the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2004), Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Italy to International Organizations in Vienna, Austria (2004-2008), Deputy Head of Mission in Ankara, Turkey (2008-2012), and Head of the European Foreign and Security Policy Division at the Directorate General for Political Affairs and Security within the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2016).
