On Thursday, 14 October 2021, the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2021/2022 at the College of Europe in Natolin took place.

The Natolin community had the privilege to host Ms Olha STEFANISHYNA, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, who delivered an inspiring keynote address to the Natolin students of the Éliane Vogel-Polsky Promotion, professors and members of staff. In her speech, Ms STEFANISHYNA discussed Ukraine-EU relations and the path towards further integration.

Mrs Ewa OŚNIECKA-TAMECKA, Vice-Rector of the College of Europe, delivered the welcome address encouraging students to 'be the leaders of tomorrow' and to 'stand firmly by our European values and support their advocates, because these values are the basis of our Nations, our Union and, above all, our civilization.' In her video message Mrs Federica MOGHERINI, Rector of the College of Europe, recalled the Patroness of the Academic Year 2021/2022, Éliane Vogel-Polsky, and reminded the students that they can bring change, no matter what their professional profile is.

During the event, all the participants, both online and at Natolin, had the opportunity to listen to a live performance of Mr Radosław SOBCZAK, a renowned pianist from Poland. Mr SOBCZAK performed masterpieces of Ignacy Jan Paderewski (Minuet in G major, op. 14) and of Frederyk Chopin (Polonaise in A flat major, op. 53).

(All students and staff members attending the event on-site were required to undergo prior testing and follow the preventive sanitary measures.)
