Claire LAWRENCE is French and Irish and joined the College of Europe Development Office in February 2016.
She has over ten years of experience in the design and management of international cooperation projects, in particular those supporting capacity building and institutional strengthening. Her main areas of experience and interest are: development cooperation policies, training and adult education, project management methodologies and tools, EU external policies and local governance.
Since January 2019, Claire is the Project Coordinator of the EU-funded project El-Hiwar - Information and Training Course on Euro-Arab diplomacy as part-time Key Expert. Her responsibilities include designing and coordinating a series of activities such as training courses, workshops, policy dialogues and other events which aim to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between the EU and the League of Arab States.
She also lectures on Project Management to Master students specialising in international project management at Paris 12 University.
Claire holds a Master’s in International Relations and Political Science from Sciences Po Toulouse, and a Master’s degree in Development Economics and Project Management from Paris 12 University. She speaks English and French, has good command of Spanish and some knowledge of Portuguese.
