The ICT Service of the College of Europe in Bruges provides a wide range of services, facilities and support.
This includes high speed network access, computer rooms for students, supporting computers in class rooms and auditoria and high quality help.
College of Europe Account for e-mail, storage and printing
All students receive a personal College of Europe account (C Account). This C-Account is linked to a personal e-mail address and mailbox. This mailbox can store up to 50GB of e-mail.
Next to the mailbox, all students receive several places where they can store their personal files such as a folder on the College of Europe servers and access to Microsoft OneDrive. This allows them to keep their files safe and share with other students when necessary.
ICT facilities on campus
Secure Wi-Fi is available on campus (Dijver & Verversdijk).
College students also have access to wireless when visiting other participating institutions as part of eduroam (https://www.eduroam.org).
There are around 60 computers available for students in the Library (Dijver), the computer classroom (Verversdijk) and an open access area (Verversdijk).
All networked computers on campus provide access to common desktop applications and specialist software. These computers also provide access to the Library catalogue and a wide range of electronic databases and collections.
All computers have common desktop applications installed s.a.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Skype for Business, ...)
- Internet Explorer and Google Chrome
- Adobe CC suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, ...)
ICT facilities in residences
Secure Wi-Fi is available in all residences. Students can use their own computer in their residence room and in the recreational areas.
Use your own computer and mobile device
The ICT Service provides information and help with connecting the College of Europe environment and accessing services and resources both on campus and in the residences.
Students can also connect to the student printers for printing, copying and scanning.
When connected to the College of Europe network on campus or in the residences, students can print to the student printers with all features.
Another possibility that is also available when not connected to the College of Europe network is to email your document to a provided address and to collect it later on the student printers.
These students' printers are also available for copying and scanning.
Software and hardware discounts and purchases
All students can purchase copies of certain software and hardware through specialized channels.
All students can benefit from a free version of Microsoft Office 365 as long as they are student. More details are once on campus.
IT Support and training
Basic hardware and software support for students is provided by the ICT Helpdesk (walk-in office in Dijver and Verversdijk). Please note that we do not provide in depth support but will assist you to find the right partner.
A wide range of information and guides are made available on the intranet pages of the ICT Service.
The ICT Service also provides specific training related to formatting the master paper using the College of Europe Master Paper template.
Multimedia and collaboration facilities
The ICT Service provides the necessary equipment and services in lecture rooms (class rooms and auditoria) such as projector, audio, a dedicated computer and the ability to connect your own computer.
In specific rooms the necessary equipment is available for video conferencing which can be used by students upon request and availability.
