Call for Applications – EU and ASEAN invite young leaders to take part in shaping the future of EU-ASEAN relations

Are you an ambitious young individual from the European or Southeast Asian business community or civil society organisations (think tank, NGOs, academia, etc.) with a keen interest in EU-ASEAN relations? Building on the success of the YLF’s 2018 edition, the ASEAN Secretariat and the European Union (EU) in partnership with the ASEAN Foundation, the College of Europe in Bruges and the College of Europe in Natolin, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and other Think-Tank partners are looking for a new batch of young strategic thinkers and leaders, aged 20-35, to discuss current and future priorities for the EU-ASEAN relationship and how the two most successful regional organisations can work together to achieve them.

If your application is successful, you will be part of an exciting programme: culminating in a six-day event series in October, the YLF 2022 also includes a large-scale kick-off event, followed by a series of monthly high-calibre capacity building sessions with other young leaders from Europe and Southeast Asia, led by renowned experts.

You will experience first-hand problem-solving through critical strategic thinking, teamwork, policy research and proposition, and connect with an impressive global network of policymakers, diplomats, policy experts, and other inspiring young leaders. In addition to excellent policy training and an extension of your professional network, you may get opportunities for travel and professional internships. Up to four of the most ambitious Young Leaders will be given the opportunity to present the group’s strategic policy recommendations before government leaders at the EU-ASEAN 45th Anniversary Summit.
